Can you explain how I got my TaxMatch result?

Our TaxMatch algorithm works in 3 different ways that we are happy to explain to everyone!

  1. Eligibility - We are focused on serving families who are in real need of tax refunds. This means that only people with children are eligible and only families making less than $65K are eligible at this time. In addition, we only have presence in 5 states now and so are limiting ourselves to those regions that we know best. We would love to be able to serve everyone, but right now we are working on growing our capacity.

  2. Preferences - We know that all families are different in their own ways and so we want to tailor our results to individual preferences. Some of our partners are able to turn around results quickly, but often charge for these faster speeds (like TurboTax) while other partners work a bit more slowly, but are able to offer their services for free (like GetYourRefund). If you want to pay more to save some time, then this may explain why you get your result.

  3. Vetting - We know the tax industry inside-and-out and so we have made sure to pick only the best partners. We have gone through the process of filing with each of these partners to make sure there are no hidden fees at the end. There are countless tax websites out there and even more accountants who will tell you that they know what they are doing, but we have made sure that all our options are fully vetted for integrity and honesty.
